Your Club Needs You ( both riders and marshals)

On Wednesday (5th July) it’s the Interclub 25 mile time trial competition. This year it’s a three way competition (like the hill climb will be in September) between WVCC, Kettering Cycling Club and Rockingham Forest Wheelers. This year there is a separate competition and trophy for female cyclists.

The trial will be run on the Bosworth course due to road closures. HQ is at Mini Meadows farm (on Naseby Rd, just on the outskirts of Welford, NN6 6HZ ) right on the finish line but 2.7 miles from the start. The good news is, their café will be open and serving refreshments.

You don’t need a tt bike, road bikes are very welcome. Spectators are also welcome.

Of course we would like to win both trophies, both the women’s and the men’s!

So if you’re a female cyclist capable of riding 25 miles, give it a go. We’re not expecting a huge field, (though it would be lovely if we were wrong) so it’s pretty likely that every female entrant will score points for their club. The faster your ride, the more points you score.

If you’re a male cyclist, we definitely want you too.

Cyclists in both categories can sign up to take part here: Welland Valley Cycling Club: Club TT Championship Sign-up (signupgenius.com)  or sign up on the night.

Time trialling not your thing?  Well, you can still take part and get a great view of all the action by volunteering as a marshal- we don’t yet have enough marshals to run the competition. Remember that all WVCC members are expected to volunteer their services at least once a year and this is a good opportunity to have fun waving a red flag!
