Saturday Whizz Kids report

Whizz Kids came to the “heart” of Welland Park today, literally.  Instead of the regular oval on the grass we had a red  heart shaped  track for two reasons – (1) we Love Whizz Kids and (2) It’s a subtle reminder that it’s Valentines day on Tuesday, there you go, if you forget don’t blame me.  Anyway we had 24 Whizz Kids taking part today and we split into two groups with Simon and Ali taking in some sprint starts, and a fair amount of dismounting and running with the bike on an undulating course.  The younger riders stayed on the tarmac under the watchful eyes of Jane and Kev and picked up on observation,  cornering and Braking.  All did really well and there were plenty of “tongues of concentration” on view.

Thanks today to the aforementioned Ali, Jane and Simon for coaching with me, and to the parents and riders, especially to our newest riders who joined for the first time today.  The next session is in two weeks time back at Welland Park and we’ll see you there.
