Whizz Kids 2023 Homecoming

Good afternoon Whizz Kids, as you go through life you’ll find that some days go to plan, while on others the best laid plans sometimes need “adapting” and so today proved for the assembled Whizz Kids at Welland Park for this years homecoming session. Firstly the ground was soft and sticky with tyres picking up mud and CX tyres soon becoming the size of MTB’s, and MTB’s becoming fatbike’s in the warm up. Coach Simon suffered a mechanical on the way in so we started the session a couple of coaches down. We welcomed Ali and Jane to their first Whizz Kids session, both having qualified recently and as we’re adaptable it was a drop into the deep end for Ali and Jane who took the younger riders around the paths of the park and Kevin and Ian took the older group concentrating on downhill braking and control. Simon’s mechanics patched up the bike and he joined in the session which concluded with a relay race for all riders on the junior course.

Thanks today go to Ali, Jane, Ian and Simon for running the session with me, you all did a brilliant job, and to all the parents for your continued support. We’re back on February 11th, details will come out in the week before.
