Whizz Kids Racing League
Updated 25 Sept:
Good evening Whizz Kids, thanks for a brilliant day today on the park. We had a great turnout of new and seasoned Whizz Kids for the skills time trial and some really competitive riding. The times are available now after the slight delay and fastest on the day was Fin Heatherton with two runs at a blistering 1:39. The only other rider to crack 2 minutes was Rory Harrison at 1:58. Sibling rivalry seemed in evidence too with Daniel and Charlie Hardwicke both stopping the clock at 2:02, and Aidan and Kieran separated by a single second.
Thanks to all the riders to took part, even if some of you missed the odd section when you thought no-one was looking. We were, but fortunately for you the electronic penalty calculator was also corrupted and all penalties are irrecoverable so you got away with it this time. Interesting to see that most riders had their fastest times later in the afternoon once they had warmed up and knew the course better
Massive thanks to all the parents who helped around the course and cleared up after the event, and to Chairman Jon for running the start gate while I logged the riders home.
FINALLY..Massive congratulations
to former Whizz Kid Dom Switzer who rode his first 3-peaks CX today and finished 2nd U 18 and 85th overall and to Josh van Nierop, another former Whizz Kid for his 147th place in the same race (beating Dad Hans by 20 places) while former Whizz Coach Dean Barnett finished his 18th race with a very creditable 167th place. Well done to all Welland Valley Riders out today
