Team Races III “Oh, where did the blue sky go? Oh why is it raining so?”
As Travis once said “Oh, where did the blue sky go? Oh why is it raining so?”
For the first time this year Round III of the Bruntingthorpe saw 42 riders well hydrated as they took to a wet but thunderstorm free circuit… no need to take a water bottle, just open your mouth and let the wheel in front provide you with all the liquid refreshment you’ll ever need! Without a strong wind though the evening was always going to be fast!!

Race 1
After going solo from Lap2 Ed Grandidge was the individual winner, with Chris Orfuer leading the chase group closely followed by Carl Dyson
- Sprint1 Winners = Ed Grandidge & Carl Dyson
- Sprint2 Winners = Josh van Nierop & Chris Orfuer
- Winning Team = Orange (Chris, Ed, Phil, Nik, Hans & Gary)
Race 2
After 45mins of damp racing Steve Coulam lead the bunch sprint to become individual winner closely followed by Ash Easton and Nick Clarke – given the level of chatter on the warm-down lap suggesting enjoyable evening of racing was enjoyed by all despite the rather damp conditions and amount of Muc-off products that’ll need to be used in the post ride bike clean!

- Sprint2 Winners = Austin Smith & Andy Deeks
- Winning Team = Purple (David Yarnall, Mike Deeley, Ash Easton, Nick Clarke & Austin Smith)
Race 3
After pulling way after the second sprint Gary Ashwell took overall winner followed by Denis Smith & Steve Latham
- Sprint1 Winners = Jade Mobbs & John Abbott
- Sprint2 Winners = Denis Smith & Steve Latham
- Winning Team = Yellow (Ben, Judith, John, Denis & Jade)
