Very Steady Social Ride Sunday 14th August

There won’t be the usual very steady club run on Sun 14th Aug. Instead you are invited to join An Expedition to Pitsford Reservoir

It’s a roughly 15 mile (25km) ride to the reservoir along the Brampton Valley Way, so 50km in total there and back. Because the route is largely along a disused railway line, it’s almost flat. There’s just one hill to get us from the cycle way to the reservoir.

Once at the reservoir you can enjoy a picnic or get lunch from the café. There will also be the chance to cycle a further 11km around the reservoir, if you wish. You could even go round twice!

We’ll then cycle back the way we came.

We’ll be going at a gentle pace, about 10-12 mph chatting as we go.

We meet at 10am on the footpath by the allotments in Little Bowden Recreation Ground, not on The Square.

There are a couple of tunnels to negotiate along the way so bring a front light with you. The nature of the cycle path means that it’s not ideal for narrow tyres. Gravel or mountain bikes recommended rather than road race bikes and the means to fix a puncture is necessary.

We will be accompanied by a group of non-WVCC members on a British Cycling “guided ride”

Any questions just get in touch:
