Welland Valley Cycling Club is delighted to announce that club member Kevin Mills has been appointed to the British Cycling Cyclocross Commission. This is one of eight discipline specific commissions that provides insight to the BC board to advance the management and strategic development of the Cyclo-cross discipline.
The goals of the Commission are:
- To continuously improve the facilitation and management of the Cyclo-cross discipline for all participants and stakeholders
- To ensure safety and fairness in both competitive and recreational aspects of the sport
- To raise awareness of the Cyclo-cross discipline and to increase/ sustain participation
- Through consultation and engagement with participants, represent the voice of the discipline
The commission is chaired by Cyclocross legend Helen Wyman.
Kevin is a passionate devotee of Cyclocross. He runs coaching sessions, organises events and competes in local races. He is keen to represent the grass roots interests of Cyclocross racing at the commission with a particular focus on increased participation, particularly for women and younger riders.
