Whizz Kid Jacob hits the boards!

On Sunday U12 Whizz Kid Jacob took to the track at the Derby Velodrome for an East Midlands cluster session.

This was the third time that Jacob had joined the group and was probably the most involved session yet. With approximately sixteen riders in the beginner group, the riders warmed up with some easy laps and the all-important stopping practice!

Jacob thoroughly enjoyed the session and is getting more confident each time he rides. This week his favourite part was his first ever one-lap sprint race, but he did find it tough to get the bike going from a held start!

For any young riders interested in giving the velodrome a try, the East Midlands Cluster sessions give priority to Welland Valley riders alongside a selection of other East Midlands clubs.
