Bonjour Whizz Kids!
Our next session is on Saturday 26th June and is one of our annual events, the 15th Tour de Welland. For those of you who have not been with Whizz Kids since the start the event was first run in 2007 to coincide with the Grand Depart of the Tour de France in London, the first time the race had started in the UK. We’ve held the event every year (apart from last year due to Covid) since. The event has moved locations as much as the other tour over time and this year thanks to the generosity of Cox Automotive we’ll be at Bruntingthorpe with racing on the Go-Kart track. The event format will be a series of age-group races (or stages) on the compact course during the afternoon and every group from balance bikes through to the most senior Whizz Kids will be catered for with at least 3 events each.
If you haven’t been to Whizz Kids before you’ll need to register first. This is a one-time activity and the form can be found at https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfkXDfik-GuX3IKlMYBgZp_n00XZj7olrSoRpwzQhpRsaDRgQ/viewform
As we’re at Bruntingthorpe we’ll need to let the venue know who will be riding beforehand and we’ll keep the booking form open until Thursday 24th at 6pm when bookings will close. Booking details will follow later this evening as usual by email to registered riders. Unfortunately due a combination of site security and my grandsons wedding on Friday we will not be able to accept late entries for this event, but there should be plenty of spaces.
So, prepare your bikes, make sure your kit is ready , bring a drink and let’s get racing
Vive le Tour!
