Welland Valley CC Falling Leaves Gravel Ride

Ten Welland Valley riders and friends set out on the WVCC Falling Leaves 100k Gravel ride yesterday. The day dawned cold with misty sunshine as they set off in two groups of 5 on various flavours of gravel bikes, cyclocross bikes and MTBs . It soon clouded over but fortunately there was very little wind, although they were teased by blue sky in the distance beyond Northampton all day. The ride took in gravel and grassy trails, a quiet route through Kettering, a full circuit of Pitsford Reservoir, sections of the Brampton Valley Way and some quiet country lanes. Some other friends of the club also rode the route independently.
Everyone enjoyed the route, so we’re planning to do a similar ride mid-December – weather permitting. Oh – and well done to Mike Ives for the best beard.
