Calling all hipsters. Get out your gravel bikes!
On Saturday 17 October we are organising a 100k off-road ride predominantly on gravel and less-travelled tarmac with some mud-free grass sections and featuring a sneaky traffic free route across Kettering. There are potential coffee stops at around 40k at MacDonalds in Kettering and around 60k at The Willow Tree Café at Pitsford, although we can’t guarantee that either will serve a flat white with almond milk. The route will also be suitable for non-hipsters on cyclocross bikes or MTBs.
See link to the route below (clockwise):
We plan to meet at 8am at the Cherry Tree in Little Bowden. Lights will be needed for the Oxendon tunnel on the Brampton Valley Way. Some form of puncture protection is recommended for off-road riding such as tubeless tyres with sealant or self-sealing inner tubes.
We will be strictly observing the rule of 6, so please let us know if you’re coming so we can arrange additional ride groups.
UPDATE: THIS IS INTENDED TO BE A CLUB RIDE FOR WELLAND VALLEY MEMBERS AND GUESTS FROM OTHER LOCAL CLUBS, NOT AN OPEN EVENT. It will be run under BC club run rules. As we will need to ride as independent groups of 6, please let us know if you can lead one of the groups.
To be added to our off-road WhatsApp group please message Adrian Killworth or email your mobile number to firstname.lastname@example.org
