There has been a lots of interest in WVCC’s history over recent months, from pictures of the day back in the early weeks of the lockdown, excerpts from Peter Riley’s Club history project, and posts and pictures of the Carnival Criteriums.
Many of these stories concern the period when we were Welland Valley ANC, and the Club Committee is delighted to announce that a special ‘one off’ Commemorative Jersey from this period is being made available, produced by Vanelli Cycling. The design has been faithfully reproduced by Mike Smith, using Peter’s own jersey (which he has kept in pristine condition) as the template.
This jersey is available in Vanelli’s enviroline range, made from recycled fabrics, at a price of £41.00, and the sizing guide can be found at www.vanellicycling.com/sizing-guide. Please place your orders with Kit Officer Hans Van Nierop by Wednesday 22nd July 2020 ahead of delivery in late August/early September
For avoidance of any doubt, it is just the retro jersey that is being made available, the Club’s official kit (also designed by Mike) and colours remain unchanged.
Should this commemorative issue be popular with members, further retro editions of previous jerseys could be made available over the next few years in the run up to our centenary in 2027 (so if anyone has black and gold jersey….or fancies doing a sketch…….do let Jon or Peter know!)
