Armstrong and Hunter cups up for grabs on today’s 25m TT

Young and old(ish) shared the honours when the Armstrong and Hunter cups came up for grabs at today’s 25 mile TT on the Kibworth-Corby course.

Tim Smith recorded the quickest time of the day in 55.30 – despite a safety pin / buttock interface issue when putting on his number – to take the Armstrong Cup for the fastest scratch time

He was chased home by two Race Hub guest riders and Welland Valley’s own Matt Plews (59.40) and James Lowe (59.56). In addition to his fifth spot overall, James also took the Hunter Cup for the best time on handicap; just four seconds ahead of Tim.

Kettering CC’s Sue Rost was quickest lady in 1.07.28, with Welland Valley’s Linda Hubbard just six seconds behind.

Michael Burke was quickest road biker in 1.02.28
