LVRC National Criterium Championships

Four Welland Valley CC riders took part in the LVRC National Criterium Championships at the MK Bowl.

Rob Moore summarised an exciting A race:

“James Moore and I contested the ‘A’ race (40-45 age group), unfortunately due to a crash in the previous race, our race was delayed and subsequently shortened to 40 mins plus three laps.   With that in mind James and I knew the action was going to be challenging from the outset. We covered all the moves to start with and I found myself in what seemed to be an established break, but with some strong lads chasing it was always going to be tough.

Then after my break being caught, the counter attack came and a group of three slipped away, followed by another three.  For the last ten minutes we chased hard but it was in vain, James won the gallop from the group and finished 7th and I was 12th”.

Phil Rayner was 19th in the C race, and Bunny was 20th in the E race.
