Hi Whizz Kids
The next round of the Whizz Kids Racing League supported by Climate Care Systems will held on Saturday 25th August and will be the hill climb event. In a change of venue from previous years we’ll be using a new course for us at Foxton Locks. The course will be the bridleway from the boatyard up the climb towards Foxton Village and although it looks quite straightforward it is a steady drag with a false summit. The surface is loose gravel/grass so think about tyre choices this week. Just a couple of other things to note, this will be a shared pathway so it’s similar ground rules as the Brampton Valley Way
- be aware of other users,
- slow down for any horses on the course
- be respectful at all times
- there will be time for a second run if you get held up.
I’d suggest parking at the top car park and riding down the new road to the bottom, there are toilets and parking is £2.00 all day. Similar facilities are at the bottom car park but parking is £2.50 for 4 hours, £4.00 all day. If you come down the towpath please be aware that it is strictly no riding on the section from the road to the bottom lock past the locks, it’ll be busy as well.
I’ll be looking for some extra course marshals to watch the course on the day to make sure the event runs smoothly and safely.
