Michael Burke returned to Lancashire to participate in one of only a handful of events that took place today due to the arctic conditions.
The 35km circuit race was held on the Salt Ayre, a figure of 8, circuit which is situated on the banks of River Lune.
With very little bare flesh exposed due to the near freezing conditions, the race was run off at a ballistic pace as the competitors battled to stay warm.
Three riders managed to escape the pack in the final of couple laps.
Burke sprinted to 8th (possibly) place. The winner was local favorite Alex Luhrs Ribble Cycling.
