Hi Whizz Kids. Allow me to present the Etape de Welland, a one day ride around the upper reaches of the Welland Valley on Saturday 10th March and the last of the winters family rides. We’ll be meeting on the green in Great Bowden village ready for the neutralised roll-out as the church clock strikes two o’clock. Heading out initially towards Welham we’ll be taking in the back roads for a scenic tour of the surrounding villages. All ages of riders are welcome to join and we’ll be covering somewhere between 15-20km.
The good news is that the weather looks to be less snowy and much warmer than last weekend, however there is a risk of rain so dress appropriately.
We’ll be riding on the roads and I would suggest ages 6+ unless they have a tag-a-long pilot up front and as with all Whizz Kids sessions we’ll need a roadworthy bike and riders need to wear a helmet.
For the non riders there are, I understand, a couple of decent places for coffee & cake, the more local to Great Bowden will be able to add their reviews below and they also provide an opportunity for a refreshment after the ride
Last year Dean set two routes and we’ll be using these as a guide, but we’ll confirm the final route before we start depending on conditions on the day
See you on Saturday!
