Welland Valley is devastated to have to share the shocking news that Neville Brooks died earlier today (18/1).
Last Sunday Nev and good friend Roger Martin were enjoying a cycle ride in the valley when Nev suffered a heart attack.
Roger managed to get Nev’s heart beating by performing CPR.
He was transferred to the Coventry University Hospital where he received outstanding care until he lost his battle and died this morning.
Nev was hardworking, reliable, genuine and caring.
He had an infectious smile; he was devoted to supporting his family Karen, Adam, Leanne and Rachel.
After persistent running injuries, Nev decided to take up cycling.
Cycling soon became his second passion, from social cycling on and off road, to club time-trials to becoming one of the founder members of the Wednesday night muddy marvels.
He just loved riding bikes.
Nev was a keen sportsman, always a willing volunteer at cycling or athletics events.
He enjoyed ‘Lads’ trips away to watch cycling events on the continent, Nev particularly loved watching continental cross.
He will be sorely missed by so many.
Our sympathies go out to Karen, Leanne, Adam and family.
