Club Night: Sharing Stories about WVCC history
16 December @ 7:30 pm - 10:00 pm
At the next club night on 16th December at The Coach and Horses in Lubenham we will be focussing on sharing our personal stories as you may know that we are compiling a history of the Club since its foundation in 1927.
We have produced an outline based on the Club records and reports from local newspapers and other publications: we now wish to incorporate details which highlight the activities of Club members over the years.
Do you have a story to tell? Did you win a road race or a time trial? Were you successful in the mud at cyclo-cross or mountain bike events? Have you completed a sportive, touring or place-to-place ride? If the answer is ‘Yes’ we want to hear from you.
The Carnival Criteriums were a major event in the Club’s programme for a number of years yet there is very little in the Club records about them. What are your memories of competing, marshalling or putting up barriers and banners? Did you play a part in organising the primes for the Milk Race and the Women’s Tour?
We are also interested in social events: Club Dinners, winter Club Nights, the trips to watch stages of the Tour de France. Were you involved with the World Championships when they were held at Leicester?
Please make your contribution to this important record of the Club by sending an e-mail to email@example.com
This will be a lovely pre Christmas get together, so we hope to see lots of members there.
