Our off-road endurance ride is back for its 7th edition on Sunday 31 May setting off from the top of the Brampton Valley Way on Scotland Road – What3Words ///repeated.almost.thudding – at 6.30am.
Our annual off-road 100 miler was originally born in lockdown in 2020 as there were no organised cycling events at the time. The first year saw a socially distanced group of 6 south west to the bottom of Borough Hill near Daventry. Year 2 saw a larger group head south east all the way to Irthlingborough. In 2022 we headed north east to Belvoir Castle and the Grantham canal, returning via Rutland Water and in 2023 we headed west to Kenilworth and Coventry. In 2024 year we went north through Leicester to Charnwood and last year saw us heading south west to the Burton Dassett Hills
This year in a route inspired by the last two MTB Solstice rides we’re heading south to Olney and Salcey Forest and returning through Northampton. The route also takes in the east shore of Pitsford Reservoir, Northampton Bike park, Delapre Park and the banks of the Nene with a quick visit to Harlestone Firs before heading home. We’ll also have a couple of cafe stops – TBA.

This will be an unsupported club ride for WVCC members and friends from other local clubs, so you will need to carry plenty of spares and have a plan for rescue if needed.
Please let us know if you’re coming on our off-road one day endurance adventure via our WhatsApp group.
As ever, for off-road rides, we recommend some form of puncture protection such as tubeless tyres with sealant or self sealing inner tubes.
