Super Saturday

What a  great day for Welland Valley riders and racers Saturday 21st March proved to be.

Congratulations to Mea Moore who, along with other club members,  took part in Battle on the Beach. It’s the UK’s biggest off-road cycle race and it takes place in Pembrey country park, South Wales. Each of the three 15km laps starts with 5km along the beach, it’s a tough ride.

How thrilling to learn that Mea won the Under 14 girls race.

Not only that but in her absence she was awarded first place in the under 14 Leicestershire Cyclocross League too

And there’s more…

It was good to see many club members riding, officiating and supporting the NCRA  road race at Old. It’s a handicap race so the faster you are, the longer you have to wait before you’re allowed to start. It was exciting to see Nick Kershaw go off the front early in the race but even more exciting to see him stay in the lead as the race progressed and the chasers started to catch up. And it was another win as Nick stayed off the front, uncaught, as he came over the finish line.

Yet more…

Congratulations too to Aubrey Elmer who collected his 2nd place award at the from the Leicestershire Cyclocross League

There’s lots more racing to come, good luck to all.
