We have all been there, we have trained well over winter, we have followed our programmes and attended skills sessions. We have got ourselves into top shape, but until the start whistle blows or the time keeper counts us down, there remains the question – have we done enough?
So, with an air of nervous excitement 21 whizz kids took to the start line of the first round of the Whizz Kids racing league sponsored by Alden Electrical. We will be running several rounds through out the year with the best scores counting.
The venue of the lumps and bumps behind the leisure centre once again provided us with 4 quality races, a straight sprint, a longer effort before a climb to the finish, a descent and climb and finishing with a tarmac sprint with a super steep climb.
Thanks to Ian and Jade for administration and scoring and “super mechanic” Kev for helping with the racing in between fixing bike.
Next session should be a skills event at Welland Park if we all keep our fingers crossed for good weather!
