Keep Smiling

Spring is here, the sun is out, the temperature is rising and you can hear the birds singing when you’re out cycling. It’s all good and there’s plenty to smile about.

We’d like to help make sure you keep cycling and smiling all year and so here are a couple of important things to consider.

  1. Insurance. The club is fully insured and has public liability insurance etc. But club insurance does not cover individual members and it is the club’s strong advice that members should take out their own personal insurance which would cover you should you been unlucky enough to be in an accident which injures others or their property. The easiest way to get insured is probably to join British Cycling or Cycling UK. Both memberships include a whole lot of other benefits too.
  2. Contact Details. This is particularly important when you are out cycling on your own but we know of cases where members have been mildly concussed and not able to pass on important information. So, at the very least, ensure your ICE (In Case of Emergency) contact is set up on your phone. You may also want to consider attaching contact details to your helmet or similar and you may find something useful here.
