Boxing Day 10 sign up closes tomorrow (24 December) at 6pm.  Helpful to know numbers to plan the event and for catering

Boxing Day in the Welland Valley means the traditional 10 mile TT – every cyclist knows that Christmas isn’t Christmas without the Boxing Day 10, and now is the time to starting getting excited and signed up.

It’s always super fun with a cracking atmosphere, with tea/coffee and the tastiest mince pies made by Angela afterwards.

Skin suit or fancy dress? Road bike, TT bike or penny farthing? Whatever you fancy! The fastest first claimer on the day wins the Jeannie Foster Shield.

We would do with another marshal and someone to push off – please let Judith or Jon Durnin know if you can help.

The Boxing  Day 10  is on the Thorpe Langton TT Course, finishing on the hill towards Tur Langton, with sign up closing at 6pm on 24th December.

HQ is Church Langton Community Hall, first rider off at 10 am, 1 minute intervals.  Sign up here:

A very quiet rural course: great for beginners – a course where pace judgment is essential – the start is fast then the road rises and falls until the turn to through Cranoe. This course has two variant finishes – one is hard, the other is worse…..

To note in your recce: this course has a right turn in Welham which needs some care. (Go to the left of the cone in events or be disqualified!) Be aware as you pass the Wheel and Compass pub in Weston By Welland of traffic entering/exiting the car park and take care at the left turn at the church. After turning onto Paynes Lane before Medbourne, the next turn towards Slawston is sharp and it is easy to end up on the wrong side of the road. Care at the entry to Slawston.  Finish halfway up the hill near Tur Langton.
