A select number of WVCC testers lined up against our friends from Rockingham Forest Wheelers to contest the InterClub competitions on Sunday (15/6).
On a new course (which riders have named ‘Rayner’s Revenge’ after its revered designer) running from Walcott to Harborough and back, with a Bosworth – Pincet Lane – Kilworth triangle added in on the out leg, riders were a little nervous about the amount of climbing and the wind.
The course did ride well, good surfaces with the ability to compartmentalise it into discreet sections, although like the Lubenham 10 the course can see traffic backed up in villages.
Rocko’s Hudson Henry (BCC Race Team) was fastest with a superb 57:08, followed by Hans Van Nierop at 59:47 and Chris Fowler at 01:00:04. Rocko’s Ruth Dempsey was fastest woman at 01:07:21.
Rockingham Forest Wheelers took both the mens and womens honours, congratulations!
Charlie Hardwicke, who is in his first TT season, won the Club’s Timson Cup, with a handicapped time of 57:51. Congratulations Charlie!
Thanks to George and Dave for timekeeping, lead marshal Chris, Mike for pushing off, red flag marshals Navpreet, Jo, Bruce and Paula, and Dale and Steve for tea and cakes. Without you all the event couldn’t take place.
