Despite some heavy rain before and after the event today Whizz Kids managed to complete their Trailquest completely dry. We were at Misterton Hall for the clubs Ride for Rosemary event and a healthy number of riders joined in the challenge of finding sixteen checkpoints around the estate. We remembered the equivalent event last year when the paper maps pretty well pulped in the damper conditions so this year we dispensed with any form of guide all together and riders had to rely on their eyes to fine the points. That said anyone who has done one of Kev’s similar events would have a general idea of how and where the checks could have been hidden. Of the sixteen points fourteen, were found by the riders and only two were missed out by all, these were Checkpoint 14 which was in a hollow log on the main drive, and checkpoint 16 which was as been hidden in plain sight on the front seat of Kev’s car, a location that some of our riders expressed their opinion that this was a bit dodgy..
Once the points were tallied up there was a 5-way tie for first place but well done to all who took part.

Thanks today to Kev for organising, to Simon, Ian and Jade for marshalling and to Dave for the drone shots. Thanks too to Tim and Lucy who organised the main Ride for Rosemary event and to Mrs Craven for the continued use of the grounds.
For the next session it looks like Simon and Kev are away so it may be an opportunity to cheer on the Tour of Britain riders who are racing in our area instead of a formal Whizz Kids session. We’;ll let you know about the session in late September. Enjoy the rest of the bank holiday and we’ll see you soon.
