The second event in the Alden Electrical Racing League saw 19 Whizz Kids, 3 Youth Development and 5 Grown Ups line up for various races at the Leicester Cycle Circuit.
With near perfect weather we ran age categorised races starting with a sprint, then a more technical cornered race, followed by a reverse direction effort into the wind and ending with a longer endurance event.
In the middle and at the end we ran relay races starting with the youngest setting off their fruit based teams before handing over to the next age group and then leaving the youths and less youthful to sprint out the finish.
Jamies Banana team won the first race before he was given a 5 second penalty for wearing a skin suit, leaving my Melon team with the victory. In the second race Nik Kershaws Strawberry team won before he too was given a 5 second penalty (yet to decide why) again leaving my team with the victory!!
The fastest movement however seemed to be when the cake and biscuits at the Whizz Kids cafe opened.
