As a keen Whizz Kid years ago, I’ve really enjoyed coming to help my dad (better known as Coach Simon) at the last two whizz kids sessions.
This week we were at Welland Park for the first skills session of the year and it was great to have a few new faces join us with a fantastic total of 16 riders!
The session began with a couple of warm up games before splitting into two groups; the younger riders practiced skills on the tarmac with Kevin whilst the older riders practiced safe braking. After developing these skills, the riders then put them to the test as they all joined together to compete in a couple of team relays which was great to see everyone get involved in. One round of the traffic lights game then successfully concluded the session.
Thanks to everyone that came and a special thanks to Kevin, Ali, Ian and Jade for also helping out.
