Good Evening Whizz Kids. After a slight setback with some snowy seasonal weather last time we’re back in action on Saturday afternoon for the first round of the 2023 Whizz Kids Racing League. For those new to Whizz Kids this is a season long series of racing events within Whizz Kids, roughly one every 4-6 weeks that will cover different cycling disciplines. We start with the Road races on the Go-Kart track at Bruntingthorpe. There will be a series of short-ish races on the tarmac and these will be further sub divided into age and gender groups so there are plenty of points on offer. Other events in the pipeline are a time trial on the Brampton Valley Way, The hill climb at Foxton, CX racing at Misterton and a skills omnium at Welland Park so plenty to go at. Points will be totaled up across the season and the various champions crowned at the December event. It doesn’t matter if you miss the odd event, or have a bad day as only the best results will count towards the trophies.
As we’re at Bruntingthorpe we’ll need to let the site know in advance who is coming so I’ll close the event booking at around 3pm on Friday Afternoon so that I can get the rider and parent list across to the security team at Bruntingthorpe.
Doors open at around 1:45, warm-up at 2:00pm and racing as soon as we can. I’m not looking at the forecast for Saturday yet, stick your head out of the door on Saturday and dress appropriately but remember the micro-climate on the airfield which is always 5 degrees cooler than surrounding villages.
Booking form will be sent out in a few minutes so check the email for the link.
See you on Saturday!
