We are sorry to learn of the death of Bernard Smith, a great cycling stalwart and character from Kettering Cycling Club.
It is with great sadness that I have to share the news that Bernard passed away on Monday after a short illness. He was a founder member of Kettering Cycling Club, having previously been a long-standing member of Kettering Friendly CC. An accomplished rider and a truly prolific time-triallist, he held any number of club trophies and records for many years. He was racing regularly until only a couple of years ago, and continued to help and support club events throughout his life, sharing the benefit of his wisdom and always encouraging others. A very charismatic and popular man, he will be sadly missed by the club and the cycling community as a whole.
