CX Round Up 17/11/19

Leicestershire Cyclocross League – Round 5

Round 5 of the Leicestershire League was hosted by Leicester Forest CC at Beaumont Park.

After weeks of heavy rain the course at Beaumont Leys was set to be a technical challenge with slippery off-camber turns and run-ups, becoming more slippery as the rain set again in the afternoon.

The Welland Valley results are shown below:

• U9 boys: Jacob Smith 2^nd, Ben Horder 4^th
• U12 boys: Jamie Kershaw 5^th, Andrew Deathridge 10^th, Dan Holton 14^th
• U14 girls: Mia Hopkins 2^nd, Hannah Henderson 3^rd, Brooke Traynor 4^th
• U14 boys: Luke Jones 3^rd
• U16 girls: Jess Ayears 5^th
• U16 boys: Dom Switzer 2^nd, Jim Vernon 5^th, Thomas Dixon 7^th, Huw Wilson 9^th, Dan Henderson 13^th, Joel Ayears 17^th, Kian Traynor DNF after 1 lap
• Vet40 women:  Nikki Traynor 4^th, Amanda McPherson 6^th
• Junior Men: Ben Brant 11^th
• U23 men: Fraser Ayears 3^rd, Josh Van Nierop 4^th
• Senior men: Michael Burke 9^th, Mark Fiddy 13^th
• Vet40 men: Simon Dixey 9^th, Austin Smith 15^th, Nick Horder 17^th, Hamish Low 24^th, Steve Coulam 31^st, Hans Van Nierop DNF after 2 laps.
• Vet50 men:  Adrian Killworth 20^th, Marc Henderson 24^th
• Vet70 men: Vic Barnett, resplendent in his new Vet75 European Masters champion’s jersey, 1^st
