Club Night: Looking back at Welland Valley CC’s archives

Over 40 Welland Valley members and friends enjoyed a canter through the Club’s archives, led by Peter Riley.  As well as Peter’s presentation, members shared stories, memorabilia, photos and newspaper clippings, and there were a couple of vintage bikes on show.

The presentation included the origins of a number of Club trophies, including the Timson Cup, presented to the Club in memory of Flying Officer Cyril Timson, lost in 1944 during World War II aged 22.  Club President Dave Birch presented the Cup to 2018 winner Nik Kershaw.

Next steps in terms of capturing WVCC’s history were discussed, more on this to follow soon.
