that has accumulated the most miles at the end of the season
by completing any of the following;

Last winter I experimented with roller and turbo sessions during January & February. The take up was fantastic and everyone gave great feedback.
For 2017 the sessions return at Harborough Town Football Club – a large room, ample parking and changing facilities.
From Wednesday 4th January until Wednesday 15th March sessions will be at 19:00pm till 20:00pm.
The turbo/roller sessions are for all abilities and experience and are particularly useful during winter when light isn’t great, weather is cold and road surfaces are wetter. Turbo or roller training is very safe and effective way for riders to maintain and improve fitness and skills as an alternative to riding on the roads.
Riding as a club group in roller /turbo sessions is very motivational compared to completing sessions on your own at home in the ‘pain cave’.
Riders follow simple instructions during the session and control how hard they want to ride and at a pace they feel comfortable.
As they gain in confidence and fitness riders can increase how hard they want to ride. The sessions typically follow a set format of warm-up, main session and cool down.
If you don’t already have rollers or a turbo trainer they don’t have to be an expensive purchase and can be bought relatively cheaply used from eBay or gumtree. The rollers / turbo trainers aren’t just for winter as they also come in really handy if the riders take part in races as they can be used for warming up before races.
If you have a bike computer that’s great and can help you track progress but it isn’t necessary for the sessions. The only other equipment than your bike and rollers/turbo is a drink, snack and towel/cloth to protect the carpet and a towel in case you get sweaty!
The cost of the session will be £1.50 per rider.
